What Does It Actually Feel Like to Rent a Lamborghini?Tags: How it feels to drive a Lamborghini, renting a Lamborghini
For many, it is the holy grail of exotic automobiles. It is the incredibly expensive sports car that gets attention everywhere it goes. When you see one in traffic, you immediately stop and stare. When you see one pass you by on the street, you cannot help but admire it. Its throaty growl is unlike no other, and its incredibly sexy, sleek lines are like no other vehicle on the pavement. It is the Lamborghini, an exotic car that immediately makes an impression. Unless you are fortunate enough to become of the super wealthy in this world, it is very unlikely that you will ever be able to afford the money required to buy a Lamborghini — a car that costs more than many people’s houses. But an exotic Lamborghini rental is well within reach of almost any of us. You may be wondering, then, why you might go ahead and spend the money to rent this exotic automobile. Yes, it is a dream for many people. Yes, when you are seen behind the wheel of a Lamborghini, you will get noticed. But what is it actually like? How does it feel to rent and drive a Lamborghini?
First, when you poke around online and look for videos of people driving older Lamborghinis, you might discover something interesting. Remember the Lamborghini Countach, the iconic Lambo from years ago that was so prominent in so many movies from the era? Well, as sexy and fast as a car like that looks, it’s actually pretty Spartan on the inside. These are not luxury cars designed for pampered comfort. These are powerful exotic sports cars designed to be imposing and impressive. To back up a Countach is no small task; the driver has to practically climb out of the vehicle to do it. There is no doubt that a Lamborghini is best when it is moving in the forward direction… and it helps if you are not too terribly tall, because the car isn’t very forgiving when it comes to people who are well above average height. Your Lamborghini rental, depending on model, can have an amazing 500 horsepower churning away in its 10 cylinder power-plant.
So what does it feel like? First, the average Lamborghini is so nice that you’ll feel like you can’t even step inside without spoiling some part of the effect. It’s not uncommon to leave paper floor mats for your shoes to rest on so as not to sully a beautiful work of automotive art like this. You’ll have to kind of squeeze yourself in there, in many cases, and there aren’t a lot in the way of creature comforts on the inside of the car, even a nice new Lamborghini (although it’s not exactly a stripped crate). Once you are comfortably inside, however, everything changes. Positioning yourself behind the steering wheel of a Lamborghini is like being the pilot of a fighter pilot… or a rocket ship. When you shift a Lamborghini, when you feel its power roaring beneath you, when it starts to thrum and churn and presses you back in your seat as you put your foot down on the accelerator, you will be immediately hooked. What’s more, you will come to either love or hate the attention that a Lamborghini gets for you. We are betting that you will love it. Most people do, and once they have experienced it, they are reluctant to give it up for a more “ordinary” ride. A Lamborghini is the ultimate thrill experience for the open road. It is fast, it is sleek, it is sexy, and it is instantly recognizable in a way that few other cars can ever hope to be.
We talked to one of our happy renters, Jason B., and asked him about his experience renting a Lamborghini for the first time. He has since become a repeat customer. “I wasn’t sure how to get the feel for it at first,” Jason told us. “In a modern Lamborghini you’ve got traction control and stability systems. It understeers, which makes for some interesting times when you’re taking on the curves. A lot of people think a Lamborghini is going to be difficult to drive, and it’s more challenging than an ordinary passenger car, but they’ve got good, firm brakes, responsive steering, and a throttle that isn’t nearly as much of a hair-trigger as you might be tempted to think. When you really step on the power, though, you take off in a straight line as if you’re riding a locomotive. It absolutely screams when you’re going down the road well over the one hundred miles per hour mark, and of course the car has plenty more where that came from. The single biggest problem I’ve had is that driving the car is absolutely addictive. They had to practically pry me out of the car when I got done with my first rental, and ever since then, I have absolutely jumped at the chance to rent and drive a Lamborghini again, every time that it’s possible for me to do so. I love driving it and I wouldn’t trade it for any other car. It’s an experience like nothing else I’ve had the chance to enjoy.”
Another renter, Matthew S., told us that the car was the most attention-getting vehicle he had ever driven. “People just come up to you and compliment you out of nowhere,” he explains. “They assume you’re the kind of guy who can afford to own one. They do things like throw change at you or even yell at you. Most people just stop, stare, even clap. I’ve had people come up and beg to drive it. I’ve also had people want their pictures with it. I can’t imagine a car that gets more response.”
While experiences vary, it’s definitely the case that driving a Lamborghini feels like driving nothing else. We hope you’ll indulge yourself. We want you, too, to feel what it’s like to get behind the wheel of an exotic Lamborghini.
